Waiting for a Ride
I'm sitting here on this dinky little street bench
Waiting for a ride that was promised me last night
So far they're almost half an hour late
Gee, I hope that they're all-right
I've been here an hour and I'm getting really worried
Where the hell have they got to
Maybe they went early and forgot about me
What am I supposed to do
I'm sitting here waiting for the ride that was promised
They said that they'd be here by ten
It's quarter-to twelve and they still haven't shown
I'll never trust those people again
It's ten-past twelve - I'm glad I brought some drink
And the chips I was going to share
I'll have them all myself - if they go hungry
I really just don't care
Maybe they really hate me, and they're laughing at me all the while
At me sitting here past one
I'm never going to speak to those people again
For making me a figure of fun
I never did anything to hurt them at all
Why are they picking on me?
I'm damned if I'm going to wait any longer
I'll go home when it turns three
Hey, isn't that their car now? How's it going guys?
You had to help your father in the store?
Well that's pretty neat - I've hardly had to wait
I just got here myself, around four
