Word Play - What a Clanger!

The phrase has two words slip and up which may be defined individually as ‘petticoat’ and ‘over’. It would certainly usually be a mistake to wear a petticoat as an overgarment (pop videos excepted). So a possible clue is: ‘Petticoat on top? What a clanger! (4-2)’. 2. It is also the word lip inside the word sup. These may be defined respectively as ‘cheeky utterance’ and ‘drink’. So: ‘Cheeky utterance when in drink may be an error (4-2)’. 3. It is the two words slip and pup overlapping. ‘Small dog partly biting fielder - shouldn’t happen (4,2)’ 4. It is the word pupils reversed. ‘Backward students make errors (4,2)’. 5. It is hidden in the words ‘muesli puppies’. ‘Muesli, puppies swallowed. That’s not good! (4-2)’
