Zeus and Themis had an ongoing fling (She was a Titan personifying Law) No-one agrees about how many offspring But of one thing everybody’s sure Three daughters - called 'The Moiras' commonly Are the Fates who controlled Each person’s destiny First is Clotho who spins life’s thread Lachesis latches on to a gauge And by her the span of life is measured While apropos of nothing, Atropos at any stage Will cut life’s thread With her fearful shears And they’ll none be swayed By sacrifice or tears
