When I was oh so very young
There were songs I should have sung
But I took hold of my tongue
And wouldn’t let the words come out
Now I have found my voice again

One dawn, as I cried beside the sea
Something cracked  inside of me
And a new voice fluttered free
Then soared to greet the rising sun
I ran and frolicked on the sand
All actions totally unplanned
And I sang to beat the band
As if my life had just begun

Now I have found my hidden voice
I have reason to rejoice
Never more to make the choice
To shyly duck my head and run
